"Azuma" means Tokyo, and "daki" refers to the steaming process.
By dyeing small quantities slowly in a small pot and kneading them, it achieves a natural, soft, and voluminous texture without stress.
This time, the fabric was shrunk using special chemicals and heat without adding dye to create its unique character, bringing out the soft texture that is the hallmark of azuma-daki.
