《Raffia & MVS Jersey Mixed-Material Panels》
The fabric is crafted from Taisho Spinning Co., Ltd.’s raffia yarn, which creates a distinctive vintage look with its natural irregularities. The yarn’s fuzz is minimized to prevent the fabric panels from sticking together.
Raffia is made by repurposing cotton trimmed during the production of loomed cotton yarn. It contains many short fibers, which naturally create irregularities in the yarn.
The fabric features a smooth texture knitted from raffia yarn, which has a distinctive vintage look created by its natural irregularities, and MVS yarn, which is treated to minimize fuzz and prevent the fabric panels from sticking together.
The panels are made from two rare types of fabric woven by Indian artisans: zigzag embroidery and square jacquard.
The fabric is also garment-dyed to enhance its rustic texture and nuanced colors.
